Mortise & Tenon Cypress Gates
These wooden gates & fence panels were a necessity to conceal a golf cart parked in the side yard. Zoning codes do not allow for a permanant structure to be positioned close to the properly line, but this two-sided structure was permitted as 6' high fencing, and thus compatible with codes enabling us to build it right up to the property line.
Another View
Although the gates were constructed using mortise & tenon joinery, the center section was made using PT stockade fencing panels from Home Depot. We did this to match the existing stockade fencing for continuity. In the next photo you can see the fence pickets attached to three cypress cleats that can be removed for painting. Also, should a different center section design be desired, it could easily be changed out.

Total cost for this structure and gates was $1,500.00 plus painting.
